| Jasper was born in early September 2002. He was a black otter Dwarf Lop. He was my first houserabbit, and came into my life in November 2002. Jasper was a sweet, unassuming little character, he was quite timid, but very loving. I have some very fond memories of him. When he was very little, before we got Jess, on sunday mornings we would bring him into our bed while we read the papers, he would sit at the foot of the bed on the sports section. When I first let him out of the hutch, to explore the flat, and I was on the phone to a friend. Jasper sat in front of me, all tall and straight, like dog, with his ears lifted a little, looking all smart and serious. Then he put his head between his legs, collected some cecals (eating poo) and sat chewing, carefully, looking me straight in the eye, with a very intense look on his face. Jasper the mountain goat. He would climb the bookshelf, then sit looking at me, with his head on one side as if to say 'check me out, I'm naughty!' Jasper the Werebunny, when I was lying on the sofa watching TV, and he would throw himself at my face, all fur and claws, before curling up on me and going to sleep. Jasper's songs. He would sing (ok, grunt) to Jessie to show her he loved her. He would aslo sing to me if I was eating a banana, to show he loved bananas! Jasper the gaurd, when he sat in the doorway to his hutch, with his paws on the doorstep, looking all smart. This was also where he preferred to be stroked. His delight when he met Jess, it was love at first sight! When we went to see him after his neuter, and were told he would need to stay overnight, they brought him through to see us and hi dove straight into my armpit and hid. Jasper was taken by the Black Rabbit on the 19th July 2004. He died suddenly of stasis, he is sorely missed. |
