Other buns: Jasper Jemima
Jessica was born in November 2002. She is a black otter dwarf lop, and is Jasper's sister, but not littermate.

Jessie came to me, in late January 2003, shortly after Jasper had been neutered.

Jessie is gregarious, very soft and a bit kooky. She is not a very good example of a her breed, she is large, she has a short, flat nose, enormous feet, and huge helicopter ears! She reminds me of a silly Enid Blyton schoolgirl. Jessie is very vocal, she will snuffle conversations with you whenever close enough (when held or when you sit on the floor with her) and has been known to attract my attention by snuffling/sighing *really* loudly!

When we first got Jess, she was ever so little, like a bundle of fur. We went to see her 'for a look', but when she curled up in Tom's lap and fell asleep, we just couldn't resist her! Jasper felt the same, and fell in love with her instantly!

For a while we were a bit worried that Jasper was pushing her around a bit, but she soon gained her bearings and grew to rule the roost!

Jess and I really bonded when she was spayed at 7 months old. It is really hard seeing your bun in pain and knowing that it's your fault (the fact that it is important for her future well being seems very far away). I spent a lot of time nursing her, hand feeding her, and she got very used to me handling her. Sometimes even now, she loves to lie on her back in my lap and have her ears and cheeks tickled, in fact, it is from there that I clip her nails!

Jessie eats anything, we really have to watch her, I have had to chase her for some stolen beef grisle before now.

When Jasper died, Jessie really took it hard, she seemed quite depressed, didn't groom properly, and refused to let me touch her. This is why Jemima was brought into the fold. Jessie is no longer top bunny now, but she does like 'Mima (although it took them a couple of weeks to make friends) and was very glad of the snuggles. She returned to her old self very quickly after 'Mima came to live in her hutch.
